Our ‘En-Gendering Monodrama’ production of La Voix humaine returns to Maynooth University after its successful premiere last July. The performance will be held in Riverstown Hall, South Campus as part of the university lunchtime concert series, and will begin at 1:10 pm.
Open to staff and students, the event will collect donations in support of the next productions of En-Gendering Monodrama. The performance will feature myself as the soloist, Aileen Cahill on piano, and Shane Byrne as the multimedia staging and set designer, and will boast a minimal staging: we will be in fact experimenting with a portable version of the chamber reduction of the work, a ‘pocket’ production, reduced in size and breadth.
This performance is made possible thanks to the support of the IRC and of private donors, in particular of L’Art du Chocolat, a French Chocolate Bar in Maynooth that of course matches in “flavour” the French atmosphere of our mproduction.
